A Brief History of the Moscow Mule
According to most historians, the Moscow mule was conceived by Jack Morgan and John Martin in the 1940s. Morgan was the LA restaurant owner of Cock 'n' Bull, and Martin was credited to have popularized vodka in the U.S. (he bought the rights to Smirnoff). It's believed that Cock 'n' Bull ginger beer and Smirnoff vodka had poor sales. So the two gentlemen decided to mix the two drinks to develop the Moscow mule. We're all happy it worked out, and we can all enjoy receiving Titos vodka gifts.

The story behind the copper mug that has become closely associated with the Moscow mule is debatable. But it just seems flat-out wrong to serve a Moscow mule in anything other than a copper mug.
