Bombay Sapphire’s History
With its distillery reaching back almost a millennia, this London dry gin entered the market around 1987. Its name originates from the city of Mumbai in India, once known as Bombay, and the Star of Bombay, a 182-carat violet-blue cut sapphire discovered in Sri Lanka.
While the flavor of other alcoholic beverages is achieved by boiling botanicals in the spirit, Bombay's drinking distilled spirits have a wonderfully distinctive taste created using the vapor infusion process.
