Beefeater Gin History
This bold and distinct gin has a history that traces back to 1862, when James Burrough, a trained pharmacist, established a distillery in Chelsea, London. He wanted to create a high-quality gin using traditional distillation methods and a carefully crafted blend of botanicals.
Burrough’s classic gin became popular with the Yeoman of the Guard, who protected British monarchy. These “Beefeaters” became such fans of his gin that he eventually adopted the name.
